    The Santa Clara women's soccer team dominated the play against North Carolina State on Friday night, but the seventh-ranked Broncos still feel to the Wolfpack in an NCAA tournament second-round match in Los Angeles. Santa Clara (17-3-2) outshot North Carolina State 25-3 and had a 12-2 edge in shots on goal. But the Broncos ultimately were eliminated on penalty kicks (5-4) after the teams finished regulation time and two overtimes tied 1-1. Each side converted its first four penalty kicks....

    The Stanford women's basketball team doesn't play again until Sunday at Gonzaga, but the Cardinal pulled off a huge win Wednesday nonetheless. They landed the nation's No. 1 recruit, Haley Jones of Mitty. After landing the No. 5 ranked recruiting class in 2017 and the No. 10 class this year, Stanford will have the No. 2 class next fall, behind only South Carolina.   • Fifth graders dance to Drake and cheer on UNC’s women’s basketball to third straight win

    The Tar Heels held its inaugural “Education Day” at 11 a.m. on Wednesday. The game was held earlier than normal so fifth grade students from each of the 11 elementary schools in the CHCCS district could attend the game. The students received pamphlets and workbooks that taught them about basketball and health.
